Melissa Paola Mezzari advises Ecoheart on environmental engineering and sustainable technology solutions. As a Ph.D. Environmental Engineer & Scientist, she bridges environmental sustainability, human health biotechnology, and the rapidly evolving FemTech sector—transforming complex science into real-world impact.
With over 20 years leading initiatives from research to commercialization, Melissa specializes in translating cutting-edge insights into actionable, scalable solutions. Currently, as Senior Bioeconomy Consultant & Director of Microbiome Innovation at YON E Global, she delivers systems-level strategies to address today's most pressing environmental and women's health challenges.
Melissa leads Environmental & Bioeconomy Programs, providing strategic guidance in bioeconomy, biofuel/biotech project management, environmental remediation (phyto/bioremediation), and decarbonization research. Her work has been featured in publications including LEC Partners and Frontiers in Climate.
As a pioneer in FemTech & Microbiome Innovation, Melissa explores the intersection of microbiome science and FemTech—driving digital health solutions that empower women, address gender health inequities, and close persistent data gaps in women's health. Her leadership at YON E Global focuses on developing technologies for precision medicine, maternal health, and preventive care, and advocating for inclusive, culturally sensitive digital health innovations.
Melissa masters complex data & systems, with expertise in analyzing and integrating environmental, genomic, and clinical datasets to inform project direction, honed through academic research and industry consulting.
Her cross-disciplinary background equips her to solve complex problems and deliver biological solutions across sectors. She has a proven track record in research, publication (including over 50 peer-reviewed articles), project management, and international collaboration as a Fulbright Scholar, with European internship experience and a Brazilian doctorate scholarship.
