Anne Armstrong is a highly accomplished IT Strategist with over 35 years of management, analytic, and advisory experience in the Canadian federal public service, specializing in complex Information Technology fields including IT governance, enterprise applications, IT operations, and IT procurement.
She possesses deep expertise in developing, implementing, and managing corporate IT capabilities such as business intelligence, data warehousing, and service management tools. In recent years, she has pivoted her focus to the critical intersection of technology, accessibility, and ethical AI, becoming a ForHumanity Certified Auditor (FHCA) for Independent Audit of AI Systems, qualified in both CORE AAA Governance and Disability Inclusion & Accessibility (DI&A) audit schemes.
She actively contributes to AI risk mitigation through her voluntary work with ForHumanity, complementing her hands-on experience leading WCAG compliance and accessibility strategy in high-visibility government applications.
Ms. Armstrong has more than 35 years' management, analytic and advisory experience across a variety of Information Technology fields including IT governance, business intelligence, enterprise applications, financial systems, IT operations/service management, IT procurement, technical analysis and mobile/web accessibility. In her career with the Canadian federal public service, she acquired experience developing, implementing and managing corporate information technology capabilities including business intelligence/data warehousing, Enterprise technologies and common application components, SAP business intelligence, service management tools, and more.
Post-retirement from the Canadian federal public service, she has pursued knowledge and expertise in impacts of technology and artificial intelligence leading to involvement as one of many voluntary contributors to ForHumanity, a registered nonprofit, charitable organization whose mission it is to examine and analyze downside risk associated with the ubiquitous advance of AI, algorithmic and autonomous systems and where possible to engage in risk mitigation to maximize the benefits of these systems.
She is a ForHumanity Certified Auditor (FHCA) for Independent Audit of AI Systems, qualified in both the CORE AAA Governance and the Disability Inclusion & Accessibility (DI&A) audit schemes. In 2025, she was honoured by invitation to become a ForHumanity Fellow for her participation and contributions to the drafting of the DI&A Audit Criteria.
She gained certification in 2023 as an IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
